Here's the listing, but I'll post the most diagnostic pics below, too. https://watchesoflancashire.com/product/1950-omega-13302-oversize-18ct-chronometer/. As mentioned in a separate thread, I'm on the hunt for a no-date gold dress watch, and this one--cased up in a 37mm Dennison--intrigues me.
I recently acquired a beautiful 50s (possibility late 40s?) Omega with what I assume to be cal. 283. The watch is in almost perfect condition, apart from a few scratches on the case. The crown and glass have been replaced, as far as I can tell. Omega caliber 283 is Swiss movement from 1950’s. Functions: sweep second. Manual-winding movement with 17 jewels. f = 18000 A/h. Power reserve: 45 hours. Diameter: 30.0 mmOmega jumbo 2777-1 SC from the British Army – Cal 283 from 1953. Military Omega watch with reference 2777-1SC with round black dial and Arabic numerals. At 12 o’clock comes Omega and 6 o’clock the flat arrow for the UK army. It has an outer ring for minutes. I've been looking at this older Omega watch for sale that is said to be from the 50s. I'm a little apprehensive of buying it because I am not 100% sure it's real. I have two questions for you wonderful people: 1) Is it real or fake?
