I'm thinking of sending out my 18238 Day-Date to RSC Dallas since everyone . After speaking to some incredible helpful and knowledgeable people on this forum, I have narrowed down my next watch purchase to either the 36mm 18238 or the newer 118238 model. From what I’ve gained.the 18238 has hollow links whereas the 118238 has the solid links adding ~third more weight. At some point, the 18238 got a beefed up clasp. Ceramic inserts were also added to the 40mm DDs bracelets to presumably mitigate stretch, but not yet trickled down to the 36mm. I recently purchased a vintage 95 18238 DD YG which I had fully serviced by an official RSC. This after a first service by an independent watch maker, the DD came back ''OK'', but when I tried the set the time the crown slipped and made a grinding noise.
