Personally all I wear is gold, for several reasons, the primary reason is that I am allergic to anything but gold. Anything else that I have tried (sterling silver, stainless steel, Hypo allergenic alloy's, etc.) gives me a rash after a day or two. I have a minor nickel allergy, it’s more like sensitivity. It comes and goes. I’m wearing a 904L Rolex now without an issue or discomfort. I find a couple of triggers: 1. When I sweat a lot while wearing the watch (e.g. bike commuting while wearing a watch) 2. When the humidity in the air drops sharply.
