This watch isn't just heavy, it's BIG – 44mm x 17.7mm of nearly solid gold swagger (swagger I definitely don't have). Those are the same dimensions as the Oystersteel-cased Deepsea ref. 136660 that was released . I wear my SubC Date daily and would recommend it highly if you're considering a Rolex diver -- that or the SD, although I also find the latter somewhat top heavy and thick.This version of the Deepsea came on the scene in 2014, just on the wrong side of the big watch trend. The market was already moving back toward smaller watches and this reference was a bad combination of slightly too wide and much, much too thick.
116660 has a considerable weight with a full gold Rolex watch. 43mm in case diameter and 18mm in thickness make it become Rolex's largest and thickest model. But because of too thick, when wearing a shirt, 116660 couldn't be fitted into, so at this point, it isn't as convenient as Daytona and SUB.So many reviewers have said the Rolex DeepSea Sea-Dweller is too big for most people. The AD advised that it might be a bit too big for me, especially the thickness and suggested to go with the smaller SD43. Is there anyone who was tried the Deep Sea on a wrist similar size to mine?
