My bezel was out by 0.5-1mm. My seamaster diver 300m was pristine and only a few months old. After a while I decided to ask omega to realign the bezel. I took it to a boutique in London, they were very helpful and took the watch in. Not sure whether it went to Switzerland or a service center in the UK. However, there is a limit to how much can be polished, and polishing also removes metal by definition and therefore can change the shape / angles / sharpness of a case, which you may or may not want.

I always thought that they were an interference fit. It is a one piece non serviceable item, glued.
