Switching the boost on and off is quiet though, it's just the channel switch. But the strangest thing is what happened when I switched on another amp in the same room. As soon as I hit the power switch on the OTHER amp, there were a loud "swish" from the Classic 30's reverb! Looking at the schematic, it may be possible to add an led to the channel select. The reverb would be a lot tougher - probably need a battery and a different switch. I made a foot switch and getting the it to switch from clean to OD channel only requires an Push-on/Push-off switch, not a momentary switch. the cord I used was a two strand cord,. If I remember correctly those amps switch by a FET IC or Transistor. Unless the switch feels defetive (like it's loose or coming apart) you probably have an electronic problem.
I have a Peavey Classic 30 combo amp (tubed). There's a channel switch button on the amp that is meant to toggle between the clean and distortion channels. However when I attempt to toggle from clean to distorted, I get no distortion.
